They took the flags with the name of the continents and oceans out to make it easier to paint. Once they finished painting, they put the flags back.

Sorry no pictures this week. We are in Southeast Asia. We watched a documentary called "Bizarre Foods" on Netflix. The host was in Vietnam and after watching it, we all decided that a trip to Vietnam was not in our future. They have a very loose idea of what goes for food over there. We can't wait to watch more episodes. It's like watching a train wreck. You just can't help but look. LOL! Everything else is moving along. We're learning about fractions in math, nouns in grammar, and survival skills in science. It's hard to believe it's almost March. The year is flying by!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MEGAN!!
I'm actually early this week! Today was Megan' birthday! She is 11! Yesterday, we enjoyed a Chick-fil-a lunch to celebrate.
For art this week, Justin and Megan created their own renditions of Van Gogh's "Starry Night".

During recess today, there was quite a commotion! Justin and Megan found a bee stuck in the wood of the swingset. They thought the bee flew into it and got stuck. LOL! I explained that the bee was a carpenter bee. Here is a picture with his "bee"hind sticking out of the wood. :)

We finished up with Russia and are moving on to Central Asia. This week we made paper Matryoshka Dolls.
We have been listening to The Horse and His Boy by C.S.Lewis. It is the third book in The Chronicles of Narnia series. We've just started a book called Whatever Happened to Penny Candy?. It's a book about economics. The kids are on chapter 2 of their new math book. This book is all about fractions. We'll finish up verbs this week in grammar and move on to nouns. I think we're all bogged down in science. We are learning anatomy this year and the program is very detailed. I think the kids will be ready for medical school when we're finished! For writing, Justin and Megan are working on short reports. Justin is writing about Australia and Megan, Russia.
